As always... there are many ways to share. Starlight Angels cannot begin to give thanks and appreciation for ALL who give of their time, cooking talents, finances, and those who are holding Starlight Angels Ministries, Inc. in the Love and Light! We are so very blessed!!!
Our stops this day included
50 Full Meals
Thoughts and Reflections... I have some wonderful news... We saw and talked with our family of five. Dad said he got a job!!! Yea!!! Mom says that they will only need to be on the corner for another two weeks (until he gets his first paycheck). She shared the plans for their new place. I'm soooo very happy for them! Please keep this family in the circle of Light and Love... always!
At times, in order to get to someone who needs help, it's not as easy as stopping in a parking lot, walking a few feet, and crossing the corner. But, what a joy when we get to that person and they give us a big hug... and tell us that they are so glad we came because they didn't think they would be able to eat lunch that day. As an added bonus, on the way back, an angel feather was laying in my walking path!
Then, it was on to meet Peter. He got a "new" beautiful jacket ... and I hope we didn't embarrass him when we handed him a pair of long johns! But, he loved them... lol. Keith let me know that two of the girls would be sorry that they just miss us. A church van had picked them up to take them to get a bag of groceries. They would be back, so we left meals for them, too. Rick still insists on exchanging papers for a meal. He barely has enough strength to walk and talk, but he's out there every Sunday... and I hear about it the next Sunday if we leave without a paper. He's another spirit that inspires me to keep going in spite of life circumstances.
We watch our friends take their meals and find a spot to eat them. Sometimes, it's on the ground under a tree... or on a bus bench, or sitting on top of a grocery cart. Sometimes, they take a bite and we can see them look at their friends and point to their food and shake their head in approval... lol. I could go on naming and detailing every individual experience, but this would become a novel, instead of an update...
It's funny sometimes... when we're putting the meals together on Sunday morning. It's a wonder we ever get on the road on time... lol. Who would think that packaging meals would such an adventure???. Each week, lessons are shared... lessons are learned. Most times, I don't even realize that I learned the lesson until I start going back over the day. Then, lots of "aha" moments come over me. This is the BEST adventure of my life. Like one dear friend told me... I'm living my dream! ... and I am filled with the Love that is returned to me through serving others. Soooo blessed!
Out of the billions of people on our planet Earth, I am but one person. Out of the trillions upon trillions of stars and planets in space, I am but a tiny speck of life... BUT... without my little speck of life, Earth and all of space would not be the same. So it is will ALL of us... how special and precious we ALL are! What an important contribution we ALL make to life... just by BE-ING.
We are all so connected...

Our stops this day included:
Thoughts and Reflections... We had just made our second stop. There she was... I call her "Little Mama". She sees us, waves her hand high in the air, and crosses to give hugs. She points to her boyfriend, who has been sick for weeks. She's been bringing him a meal each week... but this week, he was there is person. She brought me over to introduce me to Giovani and then goes back to her corner. When I'm walking away, I hear the words "starlight angles". I turn around... and there is Little Mama explaining to someone in a car who is asking about us. The person in the car spots me, shakes his head up and down, and gives a thumbs up...lol.
One woman (we've been sharing with her for a few weeks now) is in a motorized wheel chair. I see her chair zooming through the gas station parking lot. She wanted a meal to take to a woman on the other side of the freeway that we didn't see. I believe she wanted to be a part of sharing... She was so happy and excited to do this for her friend. . I keep saying it over... and over... and over again, and truly believe that we are hard wired to LOVE each other and take care of each other. It is NOT in our true nature to be cruel and harbor ill feelings and hatred towards each other.
Before we leave this stop, 3 other people are asking for meals. When we get ready to leave, Giovani looks at me with a big smile and gives two thumbs up... lol. Bless his heart...it's clear that he has a health issue. Please send prayers for Giovanni for support in health.
Every single spirit that we serve in Love is special. When they are not seen, they are missed. I miss not seeing them or sharing some sort of exchange with them. I shared with little Ali how she helps me each time I see her. I told her that she was an inspiration to me... because she keeps moving through her "stuff", no matter what comes, she moves through it and is still standing. We must all understand that sometimes the greatest blessing that one can give to another is to just BE... just EXIST... just SHINE.
Our last stop was a very special one. We haven't been able to make it to the end of our initial route in at least 2 months. This week, we did not make it to our Water's/Florida stop either. We felt compelled to stop at the Home Depot, which we did a few weeks ago. It is on our route, but not a "regular" stop. In any case, we were able to share the meals, a couple of sleeping bags, a blanket, some hats & visors, and some clothes. One of them could not stop hugging me and thanking me for the sleeping bag and blanket. IF each of them only realized how special they are... what a blessing they are...
Sometimes.... we need a little reminder that we are ALL blessings...
BLESSED BE... in the Love, Light and Peace of Our Creator...
(Next SASS ... October 12th)
On October 5th, Team "Chamuel" (Rev. Harry, Tracy and Jerri) came together for our thirty-ninth (39th) SASS!!! We were joined by wonderful friends, Maureen and Angelica. Mauareen's daughter and her new grandaughters also joined our journey as well. It was a privilege and honor to have all of them share this special day with us!
!!...THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR A MOST WONDERFULLY AMAZING YEAR...!!
Our stops this day included:
Thoughts and Reflections... This S.A.S.S. marked Starlight Angels 1ST ANNIVERSARY!!! One year ago, on October 6, 2013, Starlight Angels took the first steps to begin a community ministry that has now morphed into Starlight Angels Ministries, Inc. But, let's be clear... this celebration has less to do with how far "we" have come as a group and organization. The celebration has everything to do with the AMAZING journey that is the result of reaching out with open arms and open hearts. Who knew it would all begin with PB&J sandwiches in a brown paper bag??? Maybe you would like to start your own Starlight journey, .. just imagine what could happen by simply making a sandwich (or whatever your passion is...) and giving it to somebody with all the love in your heart.
Ali didn't have her chair set up at her corner this week. When I crossed over to give her a hug, I felt her just go limp in my arms... crying. To say the least, she had a devastating week and has lost most of her possessions, including her chair that she uses every day. I felt her fear of helplessness, and my own fear, realizing that there was nothing "I" could do to make anything better. I gave her comfort and left her with the knowledge and belief that she is never alone... and that things and circumstances are cleared from our lives so that new and better things can arrive. Do I really believe that??? You betcha!!! Please envelope Ali in prayer and positive light as often as you can.
Oh, how one of the ladies at one of our stops had a hay day going through the clothes that we had brought. Tracy was explaining how she found a jacket that had her favorite colors... and some other items. She was so excited that she carried her new treasures off in her arms... without stopping to put them in the bag.... lol.
We scope out the stops way before we pull into the parking area. Who's there today? Who's missing? Most can't wait to tell of their week or a major event in their life. Sometimes I feel like "mom"... and that's pretty cool. We no longer see some of our friends. Some have moved on to other places. Life happens. But there are those that are steady from week to week. When we don't see them, we become concerned and surround them in prayer and positive Light. Some I see only on Sundays. Others I see during the week, welcoming and greeting them as my friends. And then, there are those who surprise us with their presence from time to time ... causing us to wonder if they were possibly angels in disguise. We just never know what to expect... ...
The one thing I do know is that "we are so provided for".... as Nahko Bear sings it so beautifully...

!!THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR CONTRIBUTIONS IN EVERY FORM!!
Our stops this day included:
40 Full Meals
Thoughts and Reflections... Lesson #1... The hunger for love and compassion is all around us. Just ONE example is when I bumped into one of our SASS friends while I was out and about during the week. I love it when this happens, which is quite often, especially if I'm waiting for the bus. When my Latin friend first realized who I was, he was unsure if he should say something or just walk away. But, I acknowledged him in front of everyone and gave him a hug... let him know I was glad to see him, etc. A change came over him... and with a big smile on his face, he exclaimed, "You're EVERYWHERE". I replied, "So are you, my friend!", and told him we loved him and would see him Sunday. So, Sunday came... and there he is at our regular stop. He couldn't wait to see us, and to remind me that I'm "everywhere"... lol. He was full of hugs. This is the young man who was so cold and whose feet were freezing because he didn't have socks last winter... and has been so shy to even ask for a meal when we stop. He has always waited behind the bush... waiting to be invited. Today, he knew he didn't have to wait behind a bush... and he now knows that several people love him. One day, he will realize that he, himself, is totally made of LOVE!!!
Lesson #2... The infusion of LOVE is the "secret" ingredient ... A young man (he looks like Tom Petty...) has made his way to one of our stops for the past few weeks. He always takes an extra to his friend. He said that "hands down", the Sunday meal was the best meal of the week. But he went further, to describe the appreciation for the way the napkins and utensils are packed, the way the food is dished into the containers... all of the litte "special extras" that make it more than just a meal. He mentioned his friend that is bed ridden and unable to make it to gets meals on his own. So, the fact that we come to them is a blessing.
What makes the food we share so delicious? Well, we could say is our wonderful cooking, and to an extent, that is true. BUT, the "secret" ingredient that really makes the difference is the LOVE that is infused into everything... from each vegetable that is cut to each piece of cornbread as it's individually wrapped. This LOVE is infused even into the utensils and napkins as they're place in ziplock bags... and as the food is dished into the containers, special blessings are said over each one. The miracle of LOVE is everywhere... lol......
Lesson #3... Word gets around... Cook it and they will come. Each week we see more and more people at our stops. Once again, we ran out of meals at the last stop we made. I had an opportunity to talk with one of the girls that I've been speaking with each week. I went over a few scenarios before she stopped me at said... "It's just that word gets around". So, we have our own version of a "Fields of Dreams"... We just listened to our hearts and followed our calling.
But, our success is not in how many we feed or how delicious the food is... Any success is measured in how we go about loving and surrendering to Love and Light each and every day. All over the world, people are understanding the importance of Love....
SPECIAL NOTE: Congratulations to one of our friends who is a new father of a beautiful baby girl!!! I know he struggles, and more so now, with a new baby. So, please keep JT in prayers and Love!
