THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS..... My first brush with the temperature for the day was when Tracy and I first stepped outside shortly before 6:00am. We knew then that it was gonna be a VERY hot day! Most of our friends were having a tough time dealing with the heat. Thank you sooooo much Rev. Harry for doubling up on the cold water!!! We have several new faces, which means new names to learn. Life is ever changing, and some will flow into our lives only to stay for a short period. Everyone crosses our path for a purpose... even if it just to share their energy. I also have no doubt we have we have crossed paths with Angels from time to time. It must be so, because we have been blessed beyond belief!!! The first new friend we came across was a young pregnant woman who was so very happy for the food. What was beautiful about this was how we were introduced. One of our weekly friends met me at the corner to accept what we were sharing this day. She then pointed across the street to this new young woman... and also came to introduce me to her. We exchanged names, and then I said nothing as my friend explained to our new friend how Starlight Angels come each week and shares food. The mother to be was very surprise and excited to hear this news! I was very humbled to observe how those with nothing wish to share and help others... Then realize that our friend was sharing the Love that is in her. Just because one is homeless or poor does not mean that they have nothing of value. THEY are... YOU are of value... a VERY precious commodity. When we think that we have nothing to give, that is when we must realize that simply sharing ourselves as the "LOVE" that we ARE is the most valuable of all gifts! Just "to be"... just to exist... is the gift! We found out that our beloved Peter was ill and was not at his regular place. I was very sad to not see him. He always knew that we would come each week... and if we were ever late, his faith that we would come was like a rock... lol. Please send healing Light and Love to Peter. I pray that we see him on our next S.A.S.S. We are now known by several names. Many refer to us and introduce us as the "Angel Ladies"... lol. Tracy has received a new name... "The Backpack Lady", for the backpacks that she's shared with some of our friends. One of our friends, in particular, keeps his new backpack on him at all times! Funny... that accepting a backpack gave him a new spring to his step. During this particular S.A.S.S., it became very important to me to take a step back from the logistics of preparing and packaging the food... and getting it out. It is easy to get "lost" in the day to day tasks of life. So, I asked to have my eyes opened to see the beauty in everyone I came across... and to open my heart even wider to be the servant vessel of compassion and Love to my brothers and sisters. This is my life's calling... Many live to fulfill their life's dream, but for a while now, I am understanding that I must WAKE UP from dreaming... and continue to CONSCIOUSLY share the Love and Light of our Universal Creator. We must not be afraid to wake up... to see the Truth... to realize who we truely ARE and why we are here in this lifetime!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NfCZEmLJ1Y ...and, just because I like this version... lol... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTho3QfzrJQ BLESSED BE... in the Love, Light and Peace of Our Creator... (Next SASS ... April 12th) On April 5th, Team "Chamuel" (Tracy, Rev. Harry, & Jerri) came together for our sixty-second (62nd) SASS!!! The Gonzalez family was not able to be physically present, but were with us in spirit. We celebrated this wonderful day by sharing LOVE via a delicious homemade Easter meal... with lots of hugs!!! ... AND a beautiful handmade Easter basket. This was our 2nd Easter Share, and it was wonderful!!! 52 Full Meals :
52 Easter Baskets :
THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS..... The Easter Baskets were a HUGE success! They were just beautiful... and just looking at them made me laugh and smile! It was way too much fun to hand them out! One of the gals was just ecstatic to learn that there were real decorated eggs in the basket, and made a beeline to the nearby convenient store for salt and pepper packs. It was a beautiful day, but, holy cow... it was hot outside! Thanks to Rev. Harry we had plenty of cold water. I made my way to a woman standing on a medium to hand her a basket and a meal. I wished her a "happy Easter". We hugged and she shared with me that no one had said "happy Easter" to her all day. She led me to her husband who was taking a break in the shade. He looked overheated and couldn't thank us enough for the cold water. I watched as they made their way and sat to eat under a small tree just a short distance from the busy road. On our way to the next stop, we notice a woman that we had missed. So, Tracy dropped me off with Rev. Harry and she took a couple of meals, water, and baskets with her and went back to the woman. She said it was a good thing.. because the woman had a friend who was laying beneath a tree dehydrated. Our last stop was at the Home Depot bus stop. We very, very rarely have an opportunity to serve here because we typically run out of meals. However, today, we had just a few left. Initially, it appeared that our friends had dispersed. But, actually, they had just moved across the street and were sitting on the ground against the outside wall of a small sandwich shop. Rev. Harry pulled his truck up beside them... They were obviously soooo happy for the meals, water, and baskets. Clearly they were very hungry and were chowing down... big time... as we drove off. We did miss not seeing a few of our friends this Easter, but take this as a sign that they were in a better place, hopefully enjoying good food and lots of loving company. In closing, I'd like to share a video that was shared a while back. It definitely warrants another share. Pay attention to the very beginning of the video... as. a woman allows her "starlight" to shine and offers a helping hand to a young girl on the streets. Your own personal starlight may be music, dance, writing, gardening... you name it... There are millions of opportunities to connect and reach out to others. You will be glad that you did.... !!!Thank you, our friends and supporters, for making ALL of this possible!!!
