THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS..... Now may be a good time to expand on our chosen team name of "Chamuel". We chose to use this name for two reasons... 1) Archangel Chamuel rides the "pink" ray of light directly from God's throne (the pink ray of divine LOVE). ... 2) His/Her name comes from a Hebrew verb which means "comfort" or "compassion". It can also be interpreted as "He who sees God". These aspects encompass Starlight Angels' desire to spread Love and Light... see the highest and best in all... and bring comfort and compassion through serving and sharing with our brothers and sisters... as well as each other.
Keeping this in mind, I found it necessary to call on Archangel Chamuel to help me during this past share. I must admit that after a few days of little sleep and not taking care of myself as I should,... when Sunday came around, I was a little under the weather. Well... let's just say I was struggling to not let every little thing tick me off! LOL... So, I had to take a moment to STOP, take a deep breath, and ask Archangel Chamuel to help me.... to remove the irritation and bring in the Love and Light! That's all it took... was a call for help and an openess....
From there... it was a flurry of activity, but I was able to enjoy the time. I felt calm and more able to listen and share with our friends. There were two sisters who were so thankful for food... they waved and blew kisses to me from across the street. One of the men comes walking across a parking lot with open arms and saying, "Oh, I'm so glad to see you every week!"
It's just so heartwarming when they first spot our vehicles pulling into the area, because we see them all start to drift over from wherever they might be. It's even more heartwarming to watch them them open their meals and begin to eat before we even leave. ... I think Rev. Harry's banana pudding was the top of the meal, especially when I saw George walking across the parking lot eating it and waving with a big smile on his face... lol!
What has personally touched my heart over this new year is seeing some of the spirits that we have been serving for quite a while begin to open up to us. The man who would quickly take a meal and walk away saying nothing... now speaks to us and waves good-bye and smiles at us. Another young man that never took anything from us for well over a year, is now opening up to us... gladly accepting the meal (which is nothing more than a gift of Love).
The one encounter that I remembered most this week was a young woman that has become one of our friends over the past several months. I opened my arms to give her a hug... but she stopped me. She didn't want to hug me because she thought she smelled bad. I looked at her and said, "Welcome to the club sweetie... so do I". Yeah.... she got a BIG hug!!! Matter of fact, she got TWO hugs!!!
All of our friends that we serve each week mean so much to us. When we don't see them, we miss them and pray they are well. ... So during the week, whenever it enters your mind to do so, please send a little (or a lot) of pink light to Starlight Angels and our friends... along with all the positive thoughts and prayers you can muster up!! Together... we can be a "bridge of Light"...
Thank you, our friends and supporters, for making ALL of this possible!

(Next SASS ... January 11th)
On January 4th, Team "Metatron" (Ramona, Fran, Nellene & Jerri) came together for our forty-ninth (49th) SASS!!!... which was also our 1st Share of the New Year!!!!
Thoughts and Reflections.... I know I put this in our last update, but I feel it just needs to be repeated... because without always keeping Love and Light as our cornerstone, we cannot succeed in our mission.
May we always stay true to the Starlight Angels mission...
'...Spreading Light and Love by serving those in need of food (one of the most basic necessities of physical life), given in unconditional love and compassion, free from judgments, always seeing and acknowledging the highest and best in all humanity. We are all ONE.... "
With that being said, I'll share one of our encounters that touched our hearts this week (as shared on our Facebook page)... "We noticed a woman slowly making her way along the sidewalk while pushing a walker with bags on top of it. When we approached her, we noticed that she had no shoes... only a pair of worn hospital socks that were obviously too big for her feet. She wore a hospital bracelet on her wrist and her clothes hung on her like a hanger. About 2 seconds after we started towards our next stop, one of our angels yelled, "Stop the car! ... I have shoes!!" So, she pulled her shoes off her feet and we pulled over to bring the pair of tennis shoes to the woman... who stopped right away and began putting them on. Thank you our dear friend, Nellene, for your selfless random act of kindness!!! Today it was tennis shoes... a couple of weeks ago, it was a jacket. We know that used tennis shoes and jackets won't fix much for long. That's not our mission. BUT... the INTENTIONS OF LOVE AND LIGHT, which is the foundation of Starlight Angels, is attached to everything we do... and this can work miracles!!!"
I know that many that we serve suffer from bad health. There are 2-3 in particular that we continually keep in prayer. Yet, they are out doing the best they can every day. One man shared of his struggle just to get a shower... and how embarrassed he was to have to go to work dirty and smelly. There was a new friend that we didn't see right away, until Ramona handed a meal to one of our regulars. This woman was embarrassed about being homeless, so she stayed off in the bushes. These precious souls are God's creation, too... and no matter what... we are ALL loved equally by our Creator!
I can't help but think... what IF everyone made just one lunch for someone else once a week? What IF we weren't afraid to give random hugs... smiles instead of frowns? What IF we all gladly gave the shoes from our feet... or a jacket on hand... or the shirt off our back... when we see that someone needs it? What IF we fearlessly love someone we don't know... or show compassion without judgement? Baby steps... just start with baby steps. The Starlight Angels motto is.... "Sharing Love and Light... One Meal At A Time". We started with baby steps. How we have been blessed!!! More importantly... the whole world becomes brighter each time a spark of light shines!!!
.. Just IMAGINE... for a moment..
